    Hey everyone

I was taking a walk today by my local river and was pleasantly surprised to see a total of twelve little grebes there, having not seen them for a couple of months. I was wondering; do little grebes abandon territoriality in winter? Are all these birds related, unisex? Any info would be great.

This must be a very slow flowing river, as Little Grebe frequent lakes, ponds and marshes with an occasional canal. They do not like flowing water. They will flock in Winter but 12 is a fairly large group. They are likely to not all be related and of mixed sexes.
