Did anyone else play this stupid game as a child/teen?

    I forget what it's called but there's 2 teams.
    One team decides on a short word and gives a letter to each member and they go hide. The other team finds them and thumps them until they give them the letter in order to find out the word.

    What a ridiculous game. Did anyone else play that or any other games that seems so stupid looking back at them?

    That sounds like a brilliant game! Our main game was 'rush' where you tried to kick the bottle or ball through a persons legs and if it went through the person got a battering. Fun times.

    IRA.

    We always mixed teams with boys and girls and catch the person you fancy and threaten to kiss them if they didn't tell you their letter. Brilliant game, many a first love and frenchies were had because of the RA.

    Obviously there were times you'd get the shît kicked out of you to and go home black and blue.

    We called it 'Catch & Bash' or else 'IRA'........ More commonly known as 'Catch & Bash' round the streets of Fingls afaik though!

    We had something similar. One fella be given an iron ingot and basically play catch with it :)

    We played it too and called it Manhunt. If I was found/caught I'd always give a wrong letter...stupid dyslexia.

    Legend of a game. My first play of it was at a friend of friends mobile. In his brothers back yard. Feckers brother say the light on in the garden and didn't suss it was from the tv. He thought he was being burglarised. The other two( my friend and the guy living in the mobile) had gone to bed. The fecker scared the living ****e out of me. I was hooked to it for a while after that in the safety of my bedroom. As for the OP's game never heard of that one. British Bulldog was where it was at when I was a young scamp.
