Is it safe to freeze something which you have already cooked?

    Hello all,
I bought kipper fillets in a pack of two-not realising that both fillets are in the same bag inside the package, and both must be cooked in the same bag.

The thing is-there is only me,so obviously I won't be eating both of them on the same night.

So I'm just wondering-say if I was to cook them both, wrap one of them in tinfoil and keep it in the freezer, would it still be OK?
    Go raibh maith agaibh.

I've frozen poached salmon in the past and it's fine. The texture goes a little funny when you defrost it, but it hasn't poisoned me.

If you'd eat it within a day or two I'd seal it in the fridge rather than freezing.
