Full signal but phone doesn't ring

Hi, At times, my phone will have full signal, but it won't ring when an incoming call comes in and I also don't receive text messages. Hi,

At times, my phone will have full signal, but it won't ring when an incoming call comes in and I also don't receive text messages. Suddenly at some point later I'll get a whole lot of "you missed a call from" texts.

I am not sure if this is something related to the phone or my carrier. It's a Samsung Ativ S (Windows Phone 8) on Vodafone. So far I haven't been able to tie it down to being in a certain place - it appears to happen randomly.

Anyone any idea what could be the problem here, or have experienced anything like this before?
