    Hi there,

I'm a student on BTEA who has just moved in with my girlfriend. Just wondering does anyone know if I change my details to cohabiting could it effect the rate of my allowance or could it affect her income ?

    Thanks!

Your BTEA will not be affected right now, but in the Summer when you revert to your usual payment, it will be assessed on your girlfriends earnings, or if she is also claiming social welfare, you will have to claim as a couple and the amount will go down.
