I don't get shocked too often by news in Ireland anymore but hearing this morning that the chief executive of the central remedial clinic got a top up to his salary in excess of his basic salary straight from the donation fund really did shock me.

This is a charitable organisation that supports parents of children with special needs. The chief executive was on a salary of €107,000 and got a topup to this salary of €130,000 which came straight from the donation fund.

The most galling thing about it is that these people no doubt go around with their heads held high telling everyone that they are charity workers.

Is there anything that can be done about this? Is this not larceny, fraud or outright stealing?

    Absolutely disgusting.

My very thoughts. These folk get something like double my wife and I's combined salary, claim to work in a caring profession and yet , with out mincing my word, steal from the sick children they claim to work for. Utter scum bags.
