Samsung smart tv won't connect to wifi

    MODEL: UE32F5500A

I got this for my Dad a while ago and it's been grand up until recently - now it refuses to connect to any wifi network and the IP settings are all at 0 despite a factory reset and firmware upgrade (via USB). Connecting to LAN is not an option at this stage but may be in future (my Dad is in care so this might take a while to arrange). Factory reset resets everything but network settings, which is rather frustrating. The network he was on was and is absolutely fine as I can connect plenty of other devices to it.

I've searched around a fair bit on the net for any solutions to no avail.

Does anybody know what this might be and how to get around it?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

I have a different model Samsung but had similar problems connecting to wifi. In the end, a part had to be replaced and has worked fine since. The guy fixing it said it was a frequent problem with Samsung smart tvs and that it may be static damaging the wifi sensor(?).

    Same issue?

I got my Dads at Powercity a few months ago so if I can't get this extremely frustrating issue solved by next week I reckon I'm going to have to return the tv.

I could just get mine replaced at Powercity though yeah as they offer a one year warranty... ?

Yes. Sounds like the same problem. I though I had accidentally changed a setting but when I rang Samsung they seemed to know what was wrong. He should have a 1 year warranty .. It only took 15 mins to replace the part.

Plugging in a LAN cable (in an attempt to use powerline) actually fixed the issue, must've reset the IP settings automatically.
