hi iam a fully qualified electrician and iam looking to setup on my own Iam looking for info from someone who has already done so.I would like to know bout the electrical end of things like certifying work? I have been on the reci site looking to regisiter with them to certify my own work but I see it says you wont be able to certify till they come inspect your work to see if your following regs. What I want to know is there a course to do to certify? as obviously I havnt done any work as of yet so havnt any for them to inspect??and what else is required to become a contractor?

It appears that we have no experienced electrical contractor on here willing to give you the information. I am sure RECI can give you all the information you need and provide guidance, you have nothing to lose by asking them!

I think there's an 'electrical' forum somewhere around boards, might be worth having a look there.

3 main sites around this area - all the info is on those.

    http://www.reci.ie/Home.aspx
    http://www.safeelectric.ie/
    http://www.ecssa.ie/index.html

Give RECI a phone and they will answer all your questions.
