    Just heard the news that Lewis Collins has died from long battle with cancer

    The Professionals star Lewis Collins has died aged 67.
    The actor, who played Bodie in the crime drama alongside co-star Martin Shaw, died in Los Angeles yesterday after a five-year struggle with cancer.

    Such a great Ford advert; apparently the bad guys had to drive British Leyland cars.

    He was almost James Bond, I think he would have been great at it. It's a shame his career never really took off after The Professionals. RIP.

    In 1982 he auditioned for the role of James Bond but his audition was deemed 'too aggressive'.
    'I was in Albert R Broccoli's office for five minutes, but it was really over for me in seconds,' he reportedly said.
    'He's expecting another Connery to walk through the door and there are few of them around.'
