    Hi

Just looking for a bit of info from someone that might have better knowledge than me.

I live and work in Dublin but my home house is in the country. My car has been declared off the road till the end of Nov. This car is at my home house in the country.

Do you think it will be acceptable to pay my motor tax on Monday/Tuesday, the 2nd or 3rd or december?

I wouldnt get to my local tax office to pay before then.

I just wanted to check if i have to pay much arrears in this case?

I cant tax my car online for some reason, i get an error saying this car cannot be taxed online.

    Thanks :)

you can do it by post also. I could'nt do mine online either coming off a SORD. You won't have to pay any arrears.

Just print an RF100 from motortax.ie and post it in to your local tax office. You won't have to pay any arears, your tax disc will be dated from the start of the month. Make sure you fill out the 'non use' portion for the months the car was off the road and put in Dec '13 in the 'tax disc now required' section. You should get your disc in the post within 2/3 days, but I's take a photocopy of the completed form in case you are stopped, at least you have something to show the guards.

The daft thing is (as I found just now) you have to tax it from 1 st December (sunday)but they wont issue the disc before that date, so you have to wait until Monday or (in my case in the post) Tuesday for the disc, meaning you are not legally supposed to be using the vehicle as it has no disc and is still technically SORNd
