All these things do is drive traffic to their site; I don't think I've ever seen a book that I'd have ordinarily bought for sale in these promotions, but in general their prices are good and free shipping (without having to spend over a set amount) is great.

This was a great move by BookDepository! Although the selection offered in this countdown sale were far from great, I went browsing and ended up purchasing other books lastnight...

In one instance, for 1 bought in the countdown sale; I bought 1 other. In another instance, for 1 bought in this countdown sale, I bought 3 others.

That's 6 books now coming my way that were it not for this countdown sale, I probably would not have purchased lastnight or even this week! They done their marketing job well
