Hi, i did the clontarf half on Saturday and am doing 10 mile run in dungarvan end of January, just looking for advice on a training plan. Do I start from beginning of a 10 mile training plan or come at it some other way?
Training for half was 3 days running, 3 days boot camp. I'm giving boot camp a break until after Christmas, so will be hoping to run 4-5 days. Any pointers in the right direction would be great !

pick a half marathon training plan and concentrate on that as its a similar distance. Hal Higdon is a decent enough plan to start off with

Seeing as you have already one half under your belt I would jump in around week 5 if I was you..Also, I would be probably up the mileage slightly on each of the days. I wouldnt go to the both of lacing my shoes for a 3m run but thats just me

Would agree with the above advice really. In the same boat myself and starting a halfM training plan from next week for the 10. The days with 'low' mileage 3 to 5 miles always cause me bother but I find tacking on warm up and warm down miles makes it 'seem' worthwhile IMO.

Thanks for advice guys, will start from week 5. Wouldn't make sense for me to start 'from scratch' as such when I already have a base to work from. Just wasn't sure what way to go about it. Good thinking on the warm up/down miles.
