How do I feed the recommended 16% protein to 12 month old weanlings? I want to maintain a balanced diet, economical and simply. Weanlings being fed good silage plus multivitamins & minerals in water.

    Co Op recommend
    Either bull nut or
Beef nut with 0.5 kg soya per calf / day.

    Does this make sense?

    Teagasc recommend
    33% rolled barley
    33% distillers grains
33% citrus pulp or beet pulp

    or

    50% maize gluten
    50% rolled barley
    or

    30% distillers grains
    70% rolled barley

Is Teagasc ration mix complicate/ more expensive.

The first place you start is to test your silage and then you can see what you need.
