Does anyone know if it's possible to only do one section (Micro or Macro) In higher level leaving cert and still get a C3/C2?

There are always at least 3 long micro questions (sometimes 4) so yes it would very much be possible. In fact, some years the paper was structured so you could get an A1 by just answering micro questions but they seem to be getting away from this now.

You shouldn't limit yourself to just micro though. Have a look at National Income and the chapters on Trade and population growth. They would be in my opinion the easiest macro sections. If your stuck on the day questions 7 and 8 are usually bull****table and you could get 55/75 from just common knowlege of current affairs.

Overall, I would suggest you learn the micro inside out and take a look at 1 or 2 macro sections and you should have no problem getting a C3.
