When do ye feed yer dogs? Morning? Evening? Or twice a day? I was feeding mine in the evenings but I was finding it hard to keep condition on them since the hunting started so i've started on twice a day.

I was just wondering what ye found best? When I only had 2 dogs it was always morning feeds and they held massive conditon so I'm thinking that maybe breakfast is better than supper :)

When dogs are hunting and using more energy use a higher protein dry food , crack a raw egg into the food and a small bit of meat, im using butchers in loaf 12 cans 9 euro in tesco and the dogs are in great nick with it, i feed them in the morning and evening ,but in the close season i get a lower protein food and feed them a small bit less.
Over feeding is worse than under feeding ,it will just leave you with a mountain of ****e to clean and do the dog no good.
Some raw meat is great for a dog as well

I feed after walk/hunt, once a day. During the season I give them almost treble what they get in the off season. Also try give meat regularly too. Last year 1 lab was recovering from injury. Vet advised lots of carbohydrates, all athelethes need this including dogs. So now add in rice 1-2 times a week. Dogs are in great condition and keeping it. I find rice is inexpensive way to get the carbohydrates into them.

Raw meat once a day all year round never drops in condition or energy
