Will this HDMI splitter work for what I need?

Have a monitor with only one HDMI port, but I need two.

    http://www.cables.ie/cables/hdmi-splitter-switches/automatic-hdmi-switch-box-2-in-1-out-3d.html

I read this: "Designed to connect up to 2 devices (DVD player, set-top box etc.) to e.g. 1 television." but I'm still not too sure.

If I plug this into the monitor, and then plug two HDMIs into this, will it actually work? Also, will there be any input delay using a splitter like this?

Either this or I need to buy a new monitor.

Also looking on Amazon there are a lot for much cheaper... Will these be the exact same as the one I already linked?

It should work , but if one of the sources has HDMI encryption there could be a problem (HDCP) as these tend not to play well with splitter devices.

Cheers, that's reassuring. Do you know with something like this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Duronic-HDS3-Switch-output-Switcher/dp/B0020426AG) will I need my own HDMI cable to connect the switch to the TV? I assume I do as can't find anything on the page to say that it's included/built in.
