    LOVED IT!

    I would spend hours on some of the levels terraforming with magic to create a super fortress, sometimes that meant casting volcano in near my base so I could raise up the rest of my base in line with it.

    The adaptability of the landscape and the AI were really good for their time. AI hasn't really improved much in strategy gaming.

    Yes, imo The Beginning is the best of the lot. Really recommend it.

    Populous and Populous 2 were both based around moving land where Populous the beginning was a 3D RTS version where you controled a shaman and followers, built a base and attacked enemies with spells and troops. The Beginning (and its expansion "Undiscovered worlds") are the best in the series. Also if your looking for a game thats like populous and populous 2 then "Godus" (currently in development) is the closest equivilant. The preorder beta is out which you can get on Steam for something like €20. The company developing that are called Cannes 22 and Peter Molyneux (who created the populous series) is involved.

    If anyone plays on the Populous Reincarnated Matchmaker then please let me know your username and I'll grab some games with you :)

    I have a Twitch Channel where I stream my online games every now and again. I'm currently in the top 30 of the global leagues and as such my games are usually fairly eventful given the skill level and compeditiveness at the higher end of the league.

    Hated it...probably because I was 8 or so at the time and didn't understand it.
    That and Powermonger...

    I remember swapping my friend Alien Storm and/or ToeJam & Earl for them.....I swapped back the next day

    Excellent game, loved causing earthquakes and watching all the enemy and their buildings get swallowed up! Sick I know.

    Godus is supposed to be a mess at the moment. Basically the summary of all feedback ive read is that it's not worth buying at the moment. I'd advise people to avoid it for a while.

    But as for Populus thats a different story. I had Populus the beginning and spent hours on it. Really brilliant game. It was hilarious shooting guys with bees and watch them run around screaming.:pac:
