Are the three dates in your contract? If so I would demand that they honour the contract you signed in the same was as they would expect you to honour it

Get on the phone with the hotel manager.
If it's in the contract, they should honor it.

They should have a record of who has already booked at the special rate, get them to contact anyone who has only booked 2 dates and tell them about the mixup.

If they refuse to honor the contract, contact a solicitor.

If you've already told your guests that they can't stay that night, I'm not sure what resolution you're looking for. Compensation? I can tell you that very, very few of your Irish guests would want to stay an extra night; most don't want to stay the night itself.

And I don't understand why you'd need to change your honeymoon, can you not just stay in another hotel the second night?

I had no idea hotels closed for Christmas. I don't think I've ever actually seen one closed, in fact when I was younger we used to actually go to hotels for Christmas, the old Great Southerns in Kerry.

If you have booked those nights they will have to honour the bookings even if it means paying to put you up elsewhere.

If you only have an offer for the night and haven't booked its tough

Seems rediculous to me that a hotel would close a day early esp. when they are getting extra business. How many have booked the third day or tried ? Not making excuses but maybe the up take on the deal wasn't as good as you have perceived and in order to cut their loses they decided to close. All the same if you have agreement with them they should honor it. All I know is it will work itself out and don't let this ruin what should be your special day. Enjoy every minute of your wedding including the lead up to it. Could you get groom, bridesmaids etc. to contact some of the people on your guest list rather than you taking it all on. Delicate is your best option.
