Basically i want to ask are you put off by doing the following(couldnt get it all into the heading too much of a word limit on these headings)anyway, are you put off by 1. smokey eyes 2. countouring(sometimes i just couldnt be bothered especially if i have to be out of the house early and fast) 3.eyebrow scupting and filling 4.where to put concealer and 5.powder and 6. all the brushes. 7. pre make up exfolitation and cleansing and toning etc.

It can all get a little much if you are to do these things every day, lets say if getting ready for a shift, going into town or going out in a hurry..

What is your pet hate in the make up routine something you find too finniky?Maybe for me all the brushes for the eye make up,face powder, make up and bronzer sculpting brush etc dont get me wrong i love bronzer and what it does with contouring.I tend to keep brushes myself to a minimum,i have the optical blurring foundation brush and the sculpting brush, and two eye brushes and thats about it.I dont need 22 of them i would be there all day long!!:(

Does it get a little too much there are so many tools and products out there on the market, what ones do you tend to stick to and what do you avoid and why?Im hoping to pick up a few time saving tips btw.

What make up step do you skip and why?I know when i have to be out of the house in a hurry i miss one or two steps easily, and only use two out of the four brushes,i end up skipping concealer and pre exfoliation as it just takes too long, and i need to be out within the half hour..

I have to otherwise thats just it i will be there all day and get nowhere fast, although if im going out on the town i will use all my make up brushes do all the steps, not missing one and even do a few extra things like put a bit of sparkle on my eyelashes etc and a bit of glitter over my highlighter on the high end of the cheekbone.

A quick time saving tip with contouring fast on the go,is easy for me now since i bought the urban decay naked flush blusher pack with bronzer, highlighter and blusher. Its a great all in one product, and because its powder its not too cakey like cream based contouring is. I contour with my foundations only if i have extra time, otherwise i just use my naked flushed pallette its a life saver makes my face more defined yet i dont spend ages at it blending it etc, like i would with my foundations, and bc i use powder it looks less cakey..

Any time saving tips for doing your make up shorthand?

To me, all of the points you've mentioned would be routine, very quick jobs for me, with the exception of contouring: I don't really understand it! Luckily I think my face is pretty well proportioned so I don't think I need to contour... assuming that really is the point?! I look forward to hearing other people's replies!

Contouring can make your face slimmer and more defined and can even change the shape of your face provided you know what you are doing, its mostly done with different shades of foundations and or concealers, depending on what you want to use, lets say if you have no chin and it is receding, you could bring it out more by using a lighter shaded concealer about 2 or 3 shades lighter than your foundation and put it on the point of your chin that is receding to bring it in proportion with the rest of your face etc.
That's just one example, you could bring out the definition of your cheeks by using bronzer at the bottom and blusher in the apple of the cheek, and highlighter at the high end of your cheekbone etc.
If you wanted to slim down your nose if you had a fat nose you could use bronzer at the sides of your nose(very lightly just one swish of the bronzer brush),and then put a lighter concealer on the skinniest part of the bridge of the nose and blend it in..
Everybody seems to be raving about contouring at the moment,im not a sucker for trends, being honest i dont like using a lot of foundations, the contouring i do,is a bit of a shortcut,i just use powders/bronzer and concealer,im not mad into using all different sets of foundations and blending like mad for ages,i tried it and well i didnt work with me,i just ended up a mess..

The only thing I hate is liquid eyeliner, I'm well able to do it but its the only part of my make up routine that takes concentration and effort from me so I hate doing it. All the rest is just part of the routine so it doesn't bother me at all. I actually love contouring, I love seeing the difference it makes because I do one side of my face at a time :pac:

All of this is like a foreign language to me...

Contouring and eyebrows are my most important part of my makeup routine. It literally takes me five minutes. Well worth taking a few minutes out to do it. I wouldn't leave the house without contouring/eyebrows.

I only bother with gel eyeliner sometimes so I guess that's the least favourite thing to do although I don't mind doing it on others

Same with me for eyebrows. And I also need my mascara done to feel extra confident- sometimes I can get away with a tint but the mascara adds volume and curl that you just cant get with a tint. I hate skipping certain steps like prep because im then kicking myself when it doesn't turn out as well as usual.

I love tightlining for a natural look but I always end up winging it out and then obsessing over the wings being even etc. Which is pointless with hooded deep set eyes because one is worse than the other and it never ends up even!

I tend not to bother with eyeshadow because I have hooded eyes and unless I take the time to do a false crease or whatever it just ends up being hidden anyway.

I just put on some foundation and mascara usually. Eyebrow pencil if my eyebrows haven't been tinted so they can be seen! Takes me about 3 minutes. I don't know how anyone can be arsed doing the whole contouring/smokey eye etc etc thing every morning!

When I'm going out I add some liquid eyeliner. This kinda annoys me sometimes as both eyes never look the same

Wouldn't even know where to start with contouring :/

For work I just wear BB cream, eyeliner and a little blush. Sometimes mascara if i feel like it. I don't feel a need for a full face of make up in work and don't think it would look very professional.

I've only started trying contouring lately, it's not part of my repertoire just yet :pac:

Smokey eye is probably my go to look for a night out and I can do it pretty quickly now after many years of practice! I give my eyebrows a quick tidy maybe once a week and tint them probably every month or so, so it's not a big deal. I have loads of brushes and duplicates too and I use every single one of them. I love my eye make up brushes, I don't know what I'd do without them!
I also love going on youtube and searching for a new look and then having the tools to be able recreate it :o

Yeah bnaagirl im the same i look up youtube a lot there is this girl ciara from dublin i forget the youtube user name but if you just type in contouring her name will eventually come up,shes quite good at explaining steps without making it sound too complicated.

Lia if you find it hard to put on the classical liquid eyeliner try gel eyeliners,or a trick i find if you dont have gel eyeliner,is to go over your eyeline top and bottom with crayon eyeliner in blackest black, then retrace over the eyeliner with liquid eyeliner, that way you wont make a mistake!

    1. smokey eyes 2. countouring(sometimes i just couldnt be bothered especially if i have to be out of the house early and fast) 3.eyebrow scupting and filling 4.where to put concealer and 5.powder and 6. all the brushes. 7. pre make up exfolitation and cleansing and toning etc.

Don't wear make up everyday and when I do I only do nos. 1 (occasionally), 4, 5 and 6.

    No. 7 happens everyday.

I wouldn't know what to do with contouring, I'd end up looking like an indian chief. I have very very pale skin so the thoughts of darker concealers in certain areas etc doesn't appeal to me.

Oh yes haha I know what you mean, indian chief haha like war paint going into battle,it can get a little too orange and crazy if you go for all the darker colours i use a variation of light colours and stay away from the oranges and browns..Most women that are in to contouring on youtube use all the dark shades too and for me its just a big no no..Ive seen a few foudation based contouring sets online and in shops and im like no no..ORANGE!!!

Instead i use a variation of light shades and a cameo(borderline just 1 shade way from orange) and use them to blend, although i only use foundation contouring when i have time,bc i usually make a mess and have to correct along the way.

Contouring with foundation i find makes the face look too cakey as you are layering foundations a lot..

What i usually do for everyday is use a light powder bronzer(urban decay flushed) and dust it just on either side of my face by the jaw line to make my face more defined..That way im not bogged down with layers of foundation..
