the engine in my 2006 combo (1.3 cdti) was changed a while back and the new one has no sensor on the sump although this dose not effect the performance the yellow oil can symbol comes on when the engine is running at normal temp.at first it was fine but now it just annoys me!!
my question is can this be easily bypassed.i know i could put the right sump on it but is to much work for something that works.
    hopefully you can help me.

I presume you mean the oil level sensor.
Most cars have oil level and pressure sensors.
Ild be very surprised if a 06 car was manufactured without an oil level sensor.
Maybe the level sensor in the new engine it's physically in a different place then the old engine

If the light switches when the temperature changes there must be a sensor. You may really have an oil pressure problem.
