    Hi Guys,

Looking to buy a media player for Christmas so I need one picked out this week! I want something with internal storage so I can have all my movies on it, then plug it into the tv and watch away! Also may need a scart connection because the tv is older and it doesn't have a HDMI port... However this is not a necessity, I'll be upgrading the tv soon! Any help would be much appreciated! :)

Do you know anything about them? I found a seagate one for 139 but it needs a hard drive connected to it, which defeats the purpose!

Not really to be honest. I'm hoping someone shares a few links and gives a bit of advise on which one to buy

    Hi,
I had two Iomega screenplay HD media players.
The reason I had two is the first one broke just before the year warranty & I got a replacement (from Harvey Norman) - second one packed in this summer , after about a year and a half. When they were working they were great , 1 TB of storage and easy to use. They were €170 then. I notice on the box it says there's a 3 year warranty with registration (I didn't register - gobsh1te!). Ours got a lot of use, but no abuse. With the 3 year warranty might be worth a look.
Hope that was of some help !

Just dug up receipt & they cost €159..... and i got second one in September 2010, so it actually lasted around two and a half years.

Oh ok. You'd have it alot quicker also. Delivery normally takes a month with Geekbuying . It's depends on the individual really & their own preference.

I am looking for a Media player also for my sister. I have one myself and I want to get her one the same as its a great one. Western Digital 1 TD Live Hub Media player.
I have it about 3 years now and it works like a dream .. plays all the formats you will want ( MKV / AVI ) .
Its got internal storage , in this case 1TB ... which is loads. My problem is that it doesn't seem to be available anymore, unless you search for second hand ones.

I originally bought it in DID electrical for about 200 euro.

All of the players not seem to be cheaper but have no internal hard drives ... and you have to stream live from your own external hard drive or computer .. I would like that .. better to have everything you want on one player.

Im going to try to contact Western Digital to try and source one, but looking at their web site they don't seem to have them anymore.

Alternative option I think might be the Iomega

Let me know if ye find anything that works !
