    Hi ya...

I have been with a company for 6 years in sales & marketing- middle managerial position; and was happy with the starting wage but over the years I have been given responsibility for another other sections within the company; the two sections have increased in sales significantly. I have never asked for an increase in wages as I always believed the answer would be no based on the economy however I stayed below my marketing spend each year while still increasing sales. It was suggested recently by the accountant that I should request an increase in wages from the General Manager as I have proving myself this year with the increase on the bottom line and i should ask before we give up the budgets for the start of the year.
I just don't know how to ask about it; I am off for a week next week and thought I might ask this week so they can ponder it for the week that I am off.
    Any suggestions welcome.
    Thanks Dove2011

Personally, I would wait until I got back from holidays. If they have any questions or comments that they want to put to you, then it would be better to be there to address them straight away, as if they have to wait for a week, they might just come to a decision which is not in your favour. Out of sight, out of mind, type of thing!!
