    I've got a 2005 Peugeot 407 1.6HDi with 265k kms on the clock.

The car is running fine but it sounds like there is a small hole in the exhaust and it's sounding a little rough with a tap tap sound that runs in time with the engine. I've examined the exhaust back to front and can find no sign of a hole.

So I'm thinking it might be the exhaust manifold gasket. What do you think ? I'm not sure how likely it is to be that. It would take some removal of the heat shields to find out and I'd rather not if there might be a simple answer

Looking across the engine bay there seems to be a wet but very small oil stain under the turbo (the stain is not getting any bigger), and just one of the 4 injectors seems to have a little oiling around where it sits on the engine block as well.

Any ideas, hints or tips ?

    Probably leaking from that injector
Try tightening very carefully on clamp
