Can you be registered for exams with more than one accountancy body at one time?

    Hi guys,

First time posting on boards so hoping I'll get some help/advice.

I'm currently working towards my professional accountancy qualification.

I'm due to sit the FAE exams next September for the first time but it now appears that I may not be in the country after July.

I'm registered for my FAE exams and will continue to remain registered as it will be May/June time before I know my situation.

My question is, can I register to sit the CPA exams in April or the ACCA exams in June while also being registered with CAI.

Have you talked to the CAI and found out what the options are? It is hare enough to study for one set of exams at a time..

    Hi Jim,

Are you suggesting I speak to CAI regarding being registered with another body or to gain confirmation that I can sit the FAE's in September 2015 if I'm not around in September 2014?

I would imagine there is no issue in being registered with multiple accountancy bodies.

I'm suggesting that you contact them, explain your situation and see what they come up with.... I know the held the exams in a maternity ward for a woman that was confined to bed for instance, so who knows - perhaps they can find a way for you even in 2014!

I thought you could sit your exams in another country but incur extra costs. Not sure though.

I think if you miss a FAE sitting it is considered 1 attempt.

Would it be possible to fly back on exam week and do them then?
Seriously FAE are stressful enough without lumoing ACCA on top of them. Having said that I assume there is a good bit of crossover to them.
Why do you want multiple qualifications? I cannot imagine it being any benefit.
