Best EPG on a combo box?

Some questions for those who’ve seen a lot of boxes.

I’m replacing Sky with a combo PVR box for Saorview and FTA satellite. Budget is up to €400.

Ease of use and reliability are probably the most important features for me.

Which box offers the best EPG in terms of ease of use, easy to read, sorting channels, interface design?

Is the EPG the same in all Enigma boxes such as Amiko, SAB, Gigablue etc?

I’m wary of the Walker PVR combo as that seems to have series link issues according to other threads on here.

I see Humax rated highly here but do Humax or anyone else offer a high spec PVR combo box, e.g. Freesat and terrestrial T2 tuners that work well with Saorview?

I live on the Meath coast but Freeview reception can be ropey, sometimes about 40% signal so that’s why I’m thinking satellite is the way to go.

    Many thanks for any advice

You might get a better response in the terrestrial forum.

    Thanks I'll do that.

I was hoping someone would know if the EPGs were the same across all the Linux boxes.

What? Linux is customisable. Many of them use internet sources for full 7 day epgs. Others use "borrowed" sky or freesat data for the same purpose. Anyone with a Linux box who is confined to now and next isn't doing it right

correct with the right image and a good linux box you can have all singing all dancing EPG's and much more fun than sky, single, multi, favourites, press green, blue, red yellow, buttons 1, 2, 3, zap from epg, set timer, do a search and on it goes. then the other extras kick in.
