Picked up a bag of mineral at weekend.
Id appreciate if the more knowledgeable could give an opinion as it seemed cheap at €8 for a 25kg bag.

    It's by Devanish Notrition.

Sorry the photo is a bit blurred. :(

I worked out the feeding rate of 25kg/ton. But it seems a very small amount. They're already on 1-2kg if beef nut which should also have some mineral in it.

One thing I notice is that there is 28% Calcium and 40% between sodium and sodium chloride. this is basically feed grade lime and salt. Looks high but would have to check my own bag. Both are cheap ingredients but I need to check maybe that is the rate,

Forget about how much a ton you need to calculate how much per animal you need. Now from my knowledge and I may be wrong 20gr/100kg LW is the inclusion rate to a max of 100grams/head.

Now they are getting some in the ration/nut. The normal inclusion rate is 2.5%(25kgs/ton)-3% so check bag. It depends on how much ration/nuts you are feeding a rate of 2kg/head they are getting 50grams/head so if cattle are 400kgs you need to supplement by 30grams. If you are feeding lime separate allow for what is in the bag they are getting 14 grams for ever 50 grams of this fed.

Would Seaquin (powered Seaweed) not be better, it has iodine in it too

I choose this one as it had lime in it along with the mineral.
Just want to make sure I get the feed rate right.
I'll sit down later with Pudsey's post and a pencil and work it out.

    I'm presuming it's complete enough??

    Thanks again.

Vits much the same. However trace elements are about 60% of nutribo with exception of Cobalt. Levels calcium the same sodium is the same no sodium chloride in mine.

There is molasses in mine to get tem to consume yours are using higher salt levels I imagine. Salt is supposed to be very important to cattle and it seems we do not give them enough.
