    hi,

    Hi if i "remove" an item from my history were does it go? is it removed from my desk top ? or is it moved to anoth part of the computer ?

    It depends on what browser you're using and how exactly that browser is storing the history data.
    In general though, the item doesn't go anywhere.
    For example Firefox uses a local SQLite database to store history. When you delete a history item it runs a DELETE query, which deallocates the relevant data from the database. Once deallocated the data is still there, but it has no structure, and SQLite will have no concept of it being available. The raw data will be overwritten by a future piece of history somewhere down the line, and only then will it actually be permanently gone.
