As far as the pc is concerned after Quick once over Pretty solid rig and will play most games on high settings no problem. Only thing not sure on is case.

If you're sure he definitely wants a pc go ahead, is pretty expensive kit for an 9 year old that's just my own opinion. Games like FIFA and cod on pc? Meh.. Last thing you want is it just left gathering dust after he decided he wants a ps4 or xbone cos all his mates have them.

Overkill for a 9 year to be honest.

I'd cut it right down to an i3 4310 with a cheap €135 2gb 7870 from pixmania and a cheaper matx board with the cheapest 8gb of ram you can get. It makes 0 difference to game performance getting higher stuff. Does he need an ssd either? You could easily trim €250+ from that.

That's still going to run most games on or near max settings.

I understand you want a PC but have you considered just getting him a console? FIFA is better on consoles (using an older engine on PC I believe), CoD is only just getting dedicated servers for the newest game on PC. Battlefield would be good on PC but if he wants to play with friends I would probably just spend 400/500 on a PS4/XB1 and then you dont have to worry about upgrading it.

If you are insistent on PC then I would upgrade you own and use the old parts to go towards a PC for him. Motherboards tend to have 4 RAM slots as RAM is mostly sold in pairs.
