Have my new black Lab bitch about one week now from good hunting stock. She is currently 11 - 12 weeks old.
Was wondering does any of you lads with experience have any recommendations on what to feed the pup on or any supplements i should be giving the pup to help it reach its full potential.

And while im asking for advice any one have any tips on training it, what age to start or any advice you think might help.

    Thanks in advance.

When she is over six months get Skinners food from amazon. Sign up and you get free delivery. It's top class food same as Burns or Royal Canine but half the price.

Any of the puppy foods , Nutts about dogs do one that's too class .

The one word if advice is until he a year old don't be afraid to fill the bowl , you get out what ya put in and to give them the best chance at growing give them all the food they can eat .

Bond with the pup just walks in the fields when he get a bit older the sit command, retrieving a sock , then a tennis ball ,

Pic up a book , or DVD , a lot of the spaniel training would carry over so it might be easier to pic up a DVD on them.

And questions just ask , and best of luck.

dont rush the pup and never let it fail, dont put it in a scenario where it is gonna fail . i.e long retrieves too early , water retrieves if its not confident, retrieves in cover it cant enter, . getting the pup to TRUST you is the most important thing , and dont think because a pup reachs a specific age that they should have a certain level of trianing got, every pup is individual , not all babies walk and talk at the same time. also never compare ur dog to your friends dog its the quickest way to loose interest in them. dont overdo the training too young till you see what the pup is made of in the raw form,by this i mean is the pup hunting and using her nose first. just my two cents and not gospel :P
