Why do all the of the Christmas Ad's have snow in them, when actual snow at or around Christmas is as rare as hens teeth in Ireland?.

Cos even in the home of the black stuff, we're dreaming of a white one.

Yeah. And the cheek of those summer break ads having sun in them too.

I'm with you, OP. All ads should be filmed in a grey room with no windows.

Because its nice and Santa lives in the North pole where theres loads of the stuff...wouldnt look quite the same in grey drizzle dont you think?

Because Santa's sleigh has runners instead of wheels and if there was no snow on the roads him and his reindeer would get stuck in a pothole and die.

snow looks better than drizzle for marketing purposes, just like drink ads show pubs full of young attractive people and not ould fellas propping up the bar with their ass-cracks hanging out

Name me one ad on the radio with snow in it?

    Just one.

Because advertising is often about the soft sell. If we see snow without realising it , we think about the happiness we felt at christmas as a child.

You hardly think of Christmas even if you have someone dressed as Santa singing jungle bells if it was shot on a beach in miami

I'd like to know why hens teeth are rare? Why is this ? Do some hens have teeth? Do all hens have teeth? Why are hens teeth so rare?

yeah they should be more reality based and just use Santa and maybe Jesus in the rain, with camels and mince pies for seasonal effect

I'm not usually one to even notice ads, but I LOVE the John Lewis Xmas ad. Although I had no idea what they were advertising until I'd seen it about 10 times.

MariaAlice, have you considered forwarding on your claims to the ASAI on the basis of false advertising? They would defintely be interested in your complaint especially considering the number of ad agencies who brazenly try to put snow in their landscapes as if we lived in Alaska or somewhere equally snowy.

Personally, it does upset me, and I would be inclined to complain under the affect of emotional distress, when the inevitable comes to fruitation and there is no snow for Christmas, despite the fallacy that various ads shown to us year on year would try to suggest.

I find hearing songs living in Ireland such as Let it Snow etc. upsetting also, it does get my hopes up terribly, but I digress.
