Chimney Bubble

    Hi All,

I have a fireplace, and in that fireplace is a stove type thing - where you can put on a fire.

The stove type thing, has a chimney of it's own, that goes up the actual chimney.

My problem is, the heat from the radiators goes up the chimney, as the stove chimney is really narrow and the fire place chimney is very wide.

My solution is to buy a chimney bubble thing...my question is, if I want to put on a fire, can I still use the stove thing with the chimney bubble?

Can I even get a chimney bubble thing seen as the stove chimney goes all the way up (well it goes up a good bit, I can't tell if it goes all the way)

    thanks for your help!!

No, the bubble will melt. In your situation you would have been better off filling the gap with fireproof rope or padding obtainable from a good plumbers mearchants or easier obtainable but still effective fibreglass or rockwool.
