I figured you lads would know all about this :D

Im looking at getting a printer for work, I was told basically that heavier paper is better than lighter paper. Obviously Im not printing photographs or anythng. But will be sending out letters and various legal documents that I would like to be on relatively decent paper.

I see a printer going for around the 100euro mark and its upper limit is 90 g/m2.... that means absolutely nothing to me :o

Should I save for another while and try and get something better or would that be fine?

If you want to use paper heavier than 90gsm forget that one you've seen with a limit of 90gsm. Normal photocopy paper is 80gsm whereas photo paper will be around 200 - 350gsm. Any basic photo printer will print half decent heavy (200gsm) paper no problem at all and you should pick up an A4 size for no more than €150.
Paper for letters etc is usually only around 120-150gsm. Ink though will cost you a fortune on these little printers.

I have an Epson WORKFORCE PRO WP-4535 DWF and it's simply amazing! It's just under €300 - which isn't cheap, but read on:
    • It can take the XXL Ink cartridges so it's very economical to run
    • It's fast
    • It's a Scanner
    • It's a Fax
    • It's a Copier (Double sided)
    • It Prints Double sided
    • It's got a very large paper tray
    • It's got Wi-Fi for wireless printing built in and also a network port.
    • Takes paper up to 256gsm

General rule: The cheaper the printer, the more expensive it is to run on Ink!

We have had it for months and not had to replace an ink yet!
