Watching UPC through smart tv

We have a smart tv (samsung). When not using apps or netflix we change the source to "ext." to watch rte, bbc etc through our UPC box.

However the volume of the samsung and the volume of the UPC are giving a buzzing feedback.

Any ideas how to solve this - its very annoying.

Also is it right that I have to watch the tv using the upc box - can't seem to tune in the tv stations to the samsung as it says check aerial cable connection weak or no signal - when I auto tune it doesn't tune any channels

Sorry this is so longwinded and all over the place....

    Any advice appreciated!

Switching to "ext" implies you are using a SCART cable. Does the UPC box not have a HDMI outlet which would give better quality all round?

Yes you are probably right - the hd cable is connected to something else - will try it.

    Thanks for replying
