    Hi,

I need to get a car bonnet from just outside Manchester to Dublin sometime in the next 2 weeks. Courier is expensive due to size. Anybody out there/know someone (friend, uncle, etc..) with a van/truck coming to Dublin from Liverpool/Holyhead? I will contribute to petrol and can board as a foot passenger.

I know this is a long shot but I know there is someone out there who can help, it's just a matter of finding them.

Mods: I wasn't sure where to put this but I'll start here and see.

    Alan

I checked with deliverit.ie whom I use regularly and it can be collected for 60euro which is cheap.

Yep deliver-it.ie specialise in car parts. It would need to be boxed/wrapped though

did you check delivery costs to the north?

might be worth giving parcel motel a shot. if postage to NI is cheap enough then PM will bring it from the north to the south and you can collect it from their depot in finglas.

    Hi guys,

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm trying to avoid courier unless it's the last option, I'd like to see the bonnet first and the guy says he has shipped bonnets before and they can get bent at the points, even if wrapped well in bubble wrap.

@ardle! Damn would have suited me just grand, I know there is a lorry driver out there willing, just need to find them

@sebastianlieken Private, it's the exact colour of my car so saves me a respray, although I know the colour won't be exact.

@JJJJNR I'd go halfs on the ferry with you if you knew someone with a van??

@vibe666 Might try the north, although as above courier would be my final option as I'm getting the bonnet at quite a good price so don't want to risk damage.

Thanks for the replies guys, keep them coming.

There must be loads of people coming back for Christmas, builders with vans, etc???

Cool let me know if you find anyone and if the price is reasonable then yes. The ferry would cost me about €230 right now over and back with the car itself and change the bonnet over there, so if I could get someone to get it back for about €100-€120 then I'd be happy, Keep me posted. What car parts you bringing back cos if I went over myself I'd pick them up for you? PM me if you want.
