    Hi
Was wondering if any mechanically-minded people here would be able to help me with an issue I am having with my new car.
Last Wednesday, I bought a 207, 1.6HDI from a local car dealer. 2010, UK import, 42k miles on the clock. Full service history, was driving very well, it all seemed to check out.
On Saturday, I was driving to Galway, about 100 miles into journey, I get a beep, airpollution filter faulty message on dash, with engine management light, power completely gone, drifted into hardshoulder and car cut out. took 4 goes to restart it.
On the way home from Galway, it happened 5 times. I was terrified I would cause an accident, as it was dark, and that M4/M6 has very little lighting etc...

Phoned garage, he said it was DPF filter, he would take it today, put on computer diagnostics, and regenerate the filter by revving it hard for 20 mins...

It took 5 goes to start it on 2 occasions today.

Garage have just phoned to say that nothing showed up on diagnostics, and he can't regenerate filter on this model from diagnostics, and it's running really well, and he can't find anything wrong with it.

I am bricking it tbh, as I need to go to Galway this weekend too, and I feel I can't depend on the car now :(

Anyone got any ideas of what might be wrong? Or have come across this before?

    Thanks in Advance
    Mylina :)

I had this problem with my 207, it s a 2008... Same thing I went to my garage and they couldnt find a fault... Eventually, like you I was distraught because I was afraid that I would cause an accident. My dad is a mechanic and he knew a guy that worked in Peugeot in Kilkenny, seemingly he s very good at his job.. He found my fault... There was a problem with the engine fuse box, thats why the fault was coming up but the computer wasn't logging the fault....The guy that found the fault knew some other way into the computer diagnostics... I think if memory serves me right his name was Daniel, or something beginning with D.. I had to have the fuse box changed and it never happened again... It was such a relief... I had brought it to another Peugeot garage and they weren't much help... Would highly recommend Peugeot in Kilkenny...Hope this is of some help to you..It may not be the same at all, but the story sounds very familiar...

The Fuse box's can cause cutting out/none starting on these but it could also be an engine related sensor cutting the ecu and shutting it down.

If your down in Galway at the weekend I could in Peugeot planet (Peugeot diagnostics) for you to see if there are any faults logged...Sometimes General diagnostics used by garages don't always bring up the correct fault codes.

Row, that's really kind of you, thanks a million. :)
Hopefully garage will have sorted it by then, because I think I'd be too nervous to drive it to Galway again until I know it's been fixed.

    No Problem Mylina,
Hopefully the will get to the bottom of it.
If they do pick up any fault codes then post them up and we'll help out as best we can...:-)
