    A quick question about extra-time.
I know that if somebody is sent off in normal time, the team can start extra time with 15 players.
However do bookings carry into extra time, if domebody is booked in normal time and booked again in extra time are they sent off
    Cheers

    yes.

a ridiculous rule. if a player is sent off in normal time, the team shouldnt get a sub to take his place in extra time, and especially so if a player has to carry his yellow card into extra time.

Wexford played Westmeath some years ago and it went to extra time. Westmeath player yellow carded right at the final whistle and sent off, but they resumed with 15 men. Wexford player yellow carded right at the start of extra time and sent off and played 20 mins with 14 men. How can that be right?

i think this question always comes up around this time of year! its a load of rubbish and something that really needs addressing along with lads picking up a yellow card every game and having nothing done to them

Extra time is deemed to be a new game. As the previous poster said, it's a load of rubbish.

If it's a new game surely the score should revert to 0 - 0, and all cards nullified. Truely a rule that defies all logic.

I know extra time is 10 mins each way.

Was there a time it was two 15 minute periods? Maybe going back 15 years or so

Am I right in thinking although the team receiving the red card can return to a full 15 the replacement can't be the player sent off but a replacement - similar to the black card

Silly rule alright, the very idea that it can be considered a new game is ludicrous, if that was the case in cases where there is a home and away arrangement in place should extra time be moved :D and do all those there not have to go out and pat to come back in again
