Traction control system failures are often caused by dead wheel-speed sensors. Might be a good place to start?

Or possibly a valve in the ABS pump

This is a known issue in certain Volvo models of that period. I think it was the ABS control unit that was dodgy.

I had our 2007 C30 repaired a few years ago, it needed a replacement module of some sort. I think I may have posted about it here before.

As far as I remember the job was about a grand in parts and labour. Luckily Volvo paid for me as it was under warranty and had a full Volvo service history.

Have a google of the issue as it's a reasonably well known problem.

Find an independent garage and get them to diagnose it. Should be cheaper than a Volvo dealer.

    Where are you located?

Had that on mine.........cleared itself after a few days!

Volvo quoted €75 per hour for labour so maybe its worth that if you ask them to go over the car for you.

mine comes on for a day or two and is fine for a week or two and then coms on again for a short while. I'll get the local garage to look at shortly. hopefully not the expensive issue noted above!
