    Hiya,

So Im doing a granny themed hen and so far that's all I've got. Don't just want to go drinking etc, would like to involve a granny-type activity of some sort and make it fun - use the whole granny theme you know, but Im stuck. I know the father ted tour is an option but although I love Father Ted, bussing around all day to different Ted sites isn't really for me. I don't want it to be an all day thing as alot of friends have kids. My b-maid mentioned Bingo which can be great craic but I don't really know how to go about it - would I have to get someone in a pub to run it or how would it work...not sure? Also I was thinking somewhere in Clare or anywhere between there and county galway - any ideas? Was thinking some good craic village with a couple of good pubs and somewhere for a bit of food in the evening ..nothing fancy....

on the same kind of note, hoovering competition; then a racing competition which includes putting on granny knickers over your clothes, running and doing a "relay" of the granny knickers to the next person, they run on, do some task then runback, do the relay and you run back to starting point... Seen it somewhere on the telly, looked funny.

God thats hilarious Gatica! Ineed to start using my imagination then and forget about going to an actual place that does stuff like this. In saying that - the Farmyard looked class, but unfortunately they're booked out that weekend :( The reason I was looking for an actual separate venue for the activities is so we're nopt stuck in pubs all day/ for the whole thing but it may be the only option.....

    Great ideas there ;)

That's a pity it's booked I know there is another farm place but it's in Meath!

I know :( I found that one in Meath just this morning... bit of a trek for my crew though and with accomodation and food on top of it all I don't want to be putting that kind of expense on them....so it's back to the drawing board :)

Hey there, how'd you mean a night in style hen? But I got onto the farmyard and they're booked out the weekend I wanted and Im glad to be honest because I mentioned it to one of the girls and she's living on a farm and not her idea of a night/ weekend away at all even though some may see it as great craic. and I hadnt thought of that angle so you should consider that although you might find it a brilliant laugh some may hate it. We were thinking that most small villages that tyime of year will be pretty dead and Im cutting off my nose despite my face by doing that instead of going somewhere reliable just because it's where other hens and stags go. So we decided that we're going to westport due to the time of year. It wont be full of hens/stags in jan/ feb and they have all the stuff there you need - nice small pubs close to each other and guaranteed music. The hotel even does a "lovely girls afternoon tea party"! So it ties in with the granny theme. We think we'll have a different hen and great craic even though its somewhere popular with hens...so i feel relived now to bwe honest.

    Did you decide yet?

It was the best craic you've no idea - we just laughed all day and night!! And for a change got the right kind of attention as a hen...not the usual oglers and arse men trying to chat us up all night :-)
