    2 pages stapled

    not bound I would think.

I suppose its messy for photocopying if its bound etc.

    I've always just stapled it.

Paper clip - they may want to run it through a copier.

If you use a paper clip the second page of your CV could get lost in the many CVs that are probably going to be sent in. It may not happen but I would not chance it if it was me. Its definitely a staple:)

It means please make our life easier. Heat or spiral bound = no, slide bound = pain, but ok, stapled = not great, but ok, paper clip = we love you.

Always best to do what they ask.
You can always put a small footer with 'CV - Your name' if you think they might lose pages.
    Paper clip.

spell check it too please. Did u know that it's principal rather than principle for example?

approx 70% of teachers looking for subbing don't.

That's frightening. Actually a spell checker won't catch that one as both are correct spellings, just have different meanings.

People might be surprised how many applicants do not address their application to the person specified. We had a couple of ads last year that clearly stated applications were to be sent to The Secretary, Joe Bloggs, but hundreds of applications (literally) arrived addressed to the Principal.

Then there are the people who apply for two subject positions, with only one, or better still, neither of the subjects specified.

all great pre application stuff there, how about when the add says address it FAO: The principal, is it worth ringing up the school to find out the principal's name, or would that just annoy the principal for not doing literary what the job add says?

Nothing wrong with goggling it - you won't annoy anyone that way lol
Or ring the secretary and check with them

A small footer clogs up a cv, even a small one. Why take the risk it will get lost. A staple is also good because if you are photocopying 10 cvs the ones with paperclips have to be put back in the right order with a paper clip again. This is a time consuming and annoying thing to do. However a stapled page= put page on photocopier, flip over now put second page on, put to the side, no need to repaperclip. :)

Be careful that when googling you get the right name, there has been a lot of retirements of principals lately

How about printing back and front of the same page? Getting rid of the problem entirely.

On the plus side, it makes the recruiting easier, as you can ignore those that can't follow simple instruction!

Dont think you can blame people for this. If you're desperate for a job and you only have one of the subjects listed, you cant blame anyone for chancing their arm. They have nothing to lose by sending in a CV. Granted, it might be annoying having to sift through the CVs but people are desperate for jobs out there and are just trying to be proactive. Maybe they wont get that job, but a vacancy might arise in the near future and at least the principal has their cv. If you're not in, you can't win.

We had this situation recently with two subjects advertised. Nobody with both applied so we had to split the job into to smaller jobs. Some here would be saying that we shouldn't be replacing one teacher on full hours with two on half hours, but that's what we had to do.
It's maternity leave in fairness so not long term but still very frustrating and it would be easier to get just one new teacher instead of two.

The point is, really, that if the people without the proper combination had not applied we would have nobody at all!

I went for an interview Friday week ago and it was the most obvious 'job gone' job ever. The job went up on educationposts.ie and the following day was the closing day and you could only post in applications. I only live 20 min drive from the school so I just dropped in the cv etc. I got an interview on a Friday and the job started on the Monday but wasn't mentioned in the interview and I only got the PFO (please **** off) letter a week later. I have to say though the interview brought on some load as I only had my first interview two weeks before and I was so nervious (and stutter) the 1st time .
