Sky vs Eircom evision

I ordered sky last week and it's due to be installed on Wednesday. Yesterday I went to the local meteor/eircom shop to sort out ordering efibre broadband. The girl in the shop sold a good deal about the broadband and the tv. My boyfriend thought it was a great offer as the evision would be free for 6 months and then €10 per month after that. I had ordered the basic €27 package with sky. The savings seem to be great however now I'm reading about evision here in boards and a lot of people only have negative things to say about it. I'd happily pay for the sky as I've had it for 10+ years and never had any problems but my boyfriend thinks that evision is the way to go.

Has anyone got any opinions on which to go with?

evision is terrible, I saw it in a house in dublin 1 last week

I am getting sky this week just for the entertainment pack for 27euros per month, sky is the best for pay tv, upc is the best for broadband, freesat/saorview are the best for multirooms etc

The more I think and the more I read the more certain I am that I should stick with sky. I've always had sky at home and we never had any problems over the all the years we had it. Evision just seemed like a great idea when we were in the shop! The range of channels on evision isn't great by any means it was just when I seen my usual favourite tacky channels like TLC it seemed good. We can't get UPC broadband in our area so we're going to stick with eircom efibre for that!

Bear in mind if you get Sky there's a price hike in February. Most likely it'll be €2 but bear it in mind.

On one of those promos I got in the Post on the bottom it said the prices are increasing as per their standard terms in February. No specific amount though but it'll most likely be €2 like last time.

its still mostly ftakeith but with a small bit of pay tv, for sky's decent entertainment package

    not getting sky sports

like tonight I am paying €2.99 to watch dortmund v naples live through setanta sports through uefa.com, instead of paying €35 per month for sky sports
have www.bet365.com for live german league football

Thats just for one game, look at all the games that are available on Sky, if you wanted to pay your €2.99 a game to watch 10 games a month thats €29.99, with Sky you can flip over and back to all of the Champion League games for the €35 plus premier league games Spanish games and Rugby. Are the Setanta games in HD

yes its in hd, setanta provide the service but uefa are in charge of it, no setanta input in coverage, its the world feed coverage, I think I am the only person that gets this service, its only one game, there is no buffering, sky sports live from sky go has buffering every few minutes, it was not my laptop or upc broadband as I watched 2 live games legal on youtube and there was no buffering

I only want to watch a match that matters, see the highlights of other games on tv3 after 10pm for free

rte2hd have bayer leverkusan v man utd tomorrow

The only reason it keeps buffering is because you must have a poor broadband speed or connection, I watch Sky Go on my Iphone and laptop at home and never had a problem like that it works great on the phone where you can get the free wi-fi or at home.
