After a substantial gestation period it would appear that the NTA is finally moving ahead with getting it's Public Transport family in some form of order.

M&A Coaches are again the providers of the new 828X which operates in conjunction with it's existing 828.

Interestingly, the 828,was a very short lived PSO contract in it's original form,as the Operator had to seek a renegotiation of the original terms to maintain the service.

It's of equal note that the DSP "Free Travel Scheme" does NOT apply on these services, but rather more realistically, entitles holders to a 50% discount instead.

Good to see some new new developments at this time !

    Best of luck to M&A.

A further NTA development is the relaunch of www.transportforireland.ie.

It's looking much much better and is finally providing an integrated location for finding information such as maps, times and fares.

True, but sadly in this case, the redirect from the NTA to the TfI merely underlines the fact that TfI have nothing about the 828 or 828X on their page as yet....pity

There are other changes happening too. The Luas monthly and annual tickets are apparently no longer available on a per-line basis. Instead, a joint ticket which covers both lines will be sold at the same price as the old Green-only ticket was. It's a sensible idea that will probably not cost a whole lot and removes the stupid restriction that was in place before. Presumably at some stage the Luas and Dart tickets will be combined into a Dublin Rail ticket but probably not anytime soon.

They're also running an advertising campaign on TV for the various mobile apps that they've launched.
