Spotted this guitar on Facebook, made by a polish company and it's one of the most spectacular things I've ever seen.
Does anybody have any idea hi the grain was stained or died to get the two colours on one piece of wood?

The guitar is stained blue, then sanded so only the grain retains the blue colour. Then, it's stained black.

I was thinking it was stained then sanded but would the black not cover the blue?

Not if it was stained carefully

Having done this a few times........

    stain it black first.

the stain soaks into the softer summer grain more than the denser winter growth

then sand it back so the winter growth is wood coloured again

then stain the whole lot blue.
