What do I need to ask for?

I'm living abroad and I'm going to get a PC put together.

I need my PC to run two or three monitors.

I won't be running much on the PC and will be getting 4gb of ram I would say.

What do I need to ask for? A particular card?

I won't be running games or any heavy duty stuff, but I do need all the monitors to run smoothly at the same time.

Most cheap, modern graphics cards will support three monitors. AMD refers to it as eyefinity and one of the connections needs to be Displayport. As far as I can remember nvidia does have that limitation but it does need to be from the 600 or 700 series. I don't think the 500 series supported it with a single card but you could check on wikipedia or somewhere.

You don't want the hassle of using active display ports.

Get dual cards if using triple monitors or use the onboard graphics for one and a g-card for the other 2.

If it's only 2 monitors you can get away with a single card or onboard graphics.
