Emergency! :o Do wages usually get lodged at midnight?

I'm getting my first paycheck in two years on Monday (today). I'm very excited, so excited in fact that I'm off on a mini holiday tomorrow with my new wages. I'm just after checking my account and they haven't gone in. I thought wages are paid at midnight? I'm shyting myself as I have a hotel booked and bus ticket paid for. Please tell me that wages can go in at all hours and hopefully they'll be there when I wake up!!

It's usually midnight alright but don't panic just yet. It depends on what way your employer has it set up. Have you bit a credit card that you could use until the payment goes into your account?

"First paycheck in two years" - I'd say OP does not have a credit card!

mine go in at around 2:30 every Thursday night/Friday morning,anyone I work with that is aib get theirs at 12,im ulster bank so it takes that two hours to clear to my bank!

I get paid on a Thursday night, supposedly at midnight, but sometimes it can be 2-3am when it goes through

I'm Ulster bank too! Thank jaysus. Why does it take two hours to clear with them? I'll sue them for stress induced hair loss.

it all depends with your employer and what bank they are!

Electronic payments are not processed on a Sunday night, if you are paid on a Monday the company may do transfers on the day.

Depends on how you are paid, weekly and bi-weekly paid workers don't get emergency taxed til the 4th week with emergency tax kicking in on the 8th week. At least that happened for me.

Salary accounts are often updated by computer "batch jobs" that run during the night.
You should have them soon.

I usually pay wages on a monday, unless the missus forgets to do the cheques, or I lose them, or I forget it's monday, or there was beer on sunday night... then it can be tuesday...or wednesday. Or if I'm a bit broke..friday..or whenever people start shouting "Oi! where's me feckin wages?"

Joys of a teensy company. You must be working for a big crowd OP.

OP when did you start your job? Did the wages go in? If you are paid in arrears you might be waiting another pay period.

I'm with Ulster Bank as well and the ba5tards make sure to keep the money in their slimy, disgusting little clammy fists for as long as possible before releasing it to the rightful owner. If it goes in around midnight, most people get it right away but if you're with Ulster **** you can wait until about 4am. Should be there now

They must be making some load of money keeping it the extra 4 hours. Or maybe that is the time the batch job runs...

Don't worry. I remember one job I had ages ago my wages never went in at midnight but were always there by the following morning.

I get paid of a Friday every fortnight, it normally goes in about 10-11pm of the Thursday night before. I'm TSB not sure what way the company bank is... So did you get paid OP?

I'm hopefully presuming that the silence means the OP is in the station bar in holiday mode and has forgotten all about the thread.

I'm with ulster bank and friday night payment (when payday is "monday") is also well after midnight. Not there by 1230am, but definitely there when I wake up on saturday morning

Congrats on the new job! Make sure you haven't paid any tax, you'll still have your full tax credits for the year to get through before you pay any.

The stress of having zero money and stressing about not getting paid at midnight. I remember not being able to sleep a few times, getting up in the middle of the night, getting dressed and heading to the ATM 2-3 times during the night to see if it went in (I didn't have internet at home at that time).
