    Hi,

I have misplaced a Bishop and a Pawn from my first Chess set. I was wondering would anyone here know where I could either find replacements or get new replacement pieces fabricated. I have attached pics of the two pieces I need.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Fairly specialist pieces!

Where did you get the set from in the first place?

Looks like something you could lash out on a lathe. If you know someone who's good on a lathe.

    Thanks for the reply,

Not a clue where it came from. I got it as a present the guts of 20 years ago. I don't really know anyone who would be able do something like this on a lathe.

You could get the 3d printed and paint that black (no need for a lathe).

If you know someone who is good at 3d CAD they can send it to a company like this one (http://3dprintingdublin.ie/3dprinting/) who will print it for you.

The piece will be lighter than the other ones but they will look the same. IF you are getting something 3d printed; get the entire set printed (think of it as an A4 page. You are paying for the white space on the page so you can either use it or well pay for it)

'tis a good job you had the foresight to take the photos before they went missing ;)

    Ha Ha...

I actually have seven pawns believe it or not. Just the one bishop though. Annoyingly.

3D printing is a great idea, though I just get an expensive vibe off it. Also, I think I would prefer them to be made of wood.

Your best bet would be (if it had to be wood), find someone doing wood work (I suggest a teacher or a student in secondary school) and give them ~€40 to make a copy and they might do it on a lathe for you.

Or look through ebay and try to find a replacement set

If you don't plan on reusing the set but would like it as a memento; I suggest setting up a puzzle on the board and glueing the pieces into place.

Preferably one where black has sacced bishop and pawn for mate.
