Thinking of a new hair cut and colour for christmas

    Hi girls!

Just looking for some beauty advice on what colour and cut to get for christmas,im of average build not too fat not too skinny maybe a little on the overweight side by a few pounds..

Always had a thing for chocolate so theres my problem..

I have brown /dark blonde hair and very pale colouring blue eyes, and was wondering what colour or cut would suit my 1. colouring and 2. shape.

Now weight is no longer an issue with me(was in the recent past),im thinking of shedding my hair for a shorter cut,but i dont know what style is a definite 'in'at the moment have a mag(s) at home but no help to me.

I bought a few hair mags but now after lookign at all the styles that are there i still have no clue what to go for really.

Im stuck and looking for advice on as to what would suit me,as i noticed with the hair mag i bought they had no face shape guides or anything, just pages and pages of high fashion cuts, and im not sure if they would suit me.

I heard a lot about pop colours (there being done in peter mark) they are not permanent though, but the colour is fantastic a friend of mine got it done and im thinking i would get it done only i want something more along the lines of permanent..

Ive tried a lot of tones in the past ,from highlights to lowlights to reds to bleach blondes(on which my hair nearly fell out)..

Im not nessecarily looking for christmas colours like reds as a lot of women would dye their hair red at this time of the year,my mother does it red every christmas and some other women do and i cannot figure out why really..

Im not nessecarily looking for seasonal styles just something that would suit me,bear in mind i havent done much with my hair the last couple of years so its like going in the deep end..

Any new cut or colour out there on the market that i may have missed?

    Any advice?

Hiya! Have you a good relationship with your hairdresser or are you going for someone new?
Whenever I change mine I just ask my hairdresser what she thinks of my idea and she tells me honestly; other times I just know I want a change and let her go for it, I trust her!! But maybe I'm just lucky to have found the perfect hairdresser :D
Never tried them but there are sites where you can upload a photo of yourself and 'try on' hairstyles virtually (I'd say scrape and tie back your hair and apply make up if you usually wear it for the most realistic indication) - this might help you choose?

Edit: yea I just had a go with the site I linked, just to clarify it's pretty useless and I only linked it as an example!! I'm sure there are better ones out there!! D x

You never mentioned anything about you hair type or face shape. That's more important that you weight when choosing a hair cut and colour. Also do you want a style the is low maintance or are you willing to spend time styling you hair?

Im looking for something that is low maintenance, though,i am prepared to style my hair and usually straighten my hair and then curl it so i get better definition and then tousle it with tigi hairspray.

I haven't really thought about my face shape too much and i don't even know what face shape i am,so i will have to look into that.

I know my haidresser over the last year, she is polish and she is very fast with the scissors and cheap, she does a lot of different styles, but her english sometimes is not too good, you just have to point to a picture in magazine and say 'i want it like that'..

    But im happy with her.

And..Thanks for the link dee very much appreciated!!! :)

Hmm if it was me I'd probably get some friends involved and try on some wigs to get a feel for what would suit my face shape... Hope you find what you're looking for, and bear in mind you might have to change the colour quite gradually for best effect if it's already been lightened. Let us know how you get on!
Also, if you're blow drying, straightening, then curling, then tousling, you should consider investing in a brush hairdryer which will do all those jobs in the one go - I use the John Frieda Volume Shine Air Styler (the one that doesn't rotate) and find it brilliant, and less damaging than using several heated appliances. Could be a nice Christmas gift to yourself!

That only works if you have the same hair type as the model. A lot depends on if you have thick/thin hair etc. You need to ask is it possible to have you hair like that as it may not be.
