USB to Ethernet Adaptor

Just a quick question, if I have a laptop that doesn't have an Ethernet port, is it possible to use a USB to Ethernet adaptor to connect an Ethernet cable to the computer and use the internet. My main point of concern is whether or not the laptop (in this case the Lenovo Ideapad Yoga) has the capability to connect using an Ethernet cable or does it not have the correct software to do so. Thanks very much!
