Why only so far as Dubai and not further onwards ?

I dont think the islands airports are capable of taking loads of flights from around the world just yet and GOAL have a distribution center set up in Dubai so they are delivering goods to GOAL in Dubai so they can distribute them where they are deemed needed by GOAL

I imagine the aid shipments into Philippines are being coordinated centrally. EIN2102 beginning its decent towards DXB now.

How did EI manage to free up a plane for this run especially a 330.

Isn't there a free 330 being leased to a Scandinavian airline for the Winter season?

Maybe the decrease in route frequency to allow for that has already happened so a rejig of aircraft was made very simple for Aer Lingus. I am not too sure, I am fairly ignorant of the Winter schedule dates.

Aer Lingus (along with many other airlines) reduce their schedule over the quieter Winter season. This is a yearly thing. The lease to Novair is good use of the 'spare' A330. EI usually schedule their A330 heavy maintenance for the Winter season too.

Oh aye, I know all that. Was wondering when the Winter season timetable actually kicks in. If it has already, which I am assuming, it explains the ability to send an A330 to Dubai. :)

EDIT: Cool video, it is a very nice thing to see done.

The winter/summer schedules revolve around the weekends that the clocks change in Europe.
