Buying engagement ring in Birmingham Diamond Quarter

    Hi all,

    My OH and I are going to Birmingham in a few weeks and will be looking at engagementrings. Has anyone any experience of buying their rings there? Would love to get a few shops recommended to us or even just to know if its worth our while going there at all?

    Hi,

    I got my ring eventually in Diamond Heaven in B'ham Jew Quart. My advice is to know a little about the 4 c's in diamonds. When you see a ring you like get the jeweller to write a quote on some paper (not all will do this but ask anyway!) & use that for the next jeweller to see if they can do any better. Also got an extra discount when we paid cash.
    Very happy with my ring, was valued for twice the price in Ire.

    Thanks a mill for that Betty! Need all the advice I can get as have heard to steer clear of some shops so is good to get some feedback! Thanks a mill! :)

    I also bought mine from Diamond heaven , but i bought from their website.but having worked in a jewellers and trying on lots of rings I knew exactly what i wanted. The same ring in a jewellers here was nearly €3000 more!

    I did a lot of research into this last year. I got in contact with a lot of jewellers over there and they were very good sending me photos of rings etc. I actually had picked a ring in diamond heaven and would you believe ended up getting it cheaper in thomas gear in dublin. The exact same ring!! You can look up their websites and compare rings and prices. I was only looking at trilogy rings (3 stone) maybe a single stone may be different. So in the end didn't have to make the trip. A lot of their stock is the same so look into it. For a similar ring in other jewellers in dublin you were talking 3-4 times the price I paid!

    Thanks for the replies everyone! Went to Birmingham but didn't end up purchasing over there. In the end we settled on a local jewellers which we are extremely happy with! Thanks again :)
