Does anyone here remember a children's bible that had illustrations of the characters wearing modern clothes? I'm trying to remember the name of it. Thanks in advance

The New International Reader's Version Bible have several editions. Perhaps it one of them you are thinking of.

No, the characters were people from the Bible. Thanks anyway.

In the pictures, Jesus was clean-shaven

I have no idea Branie, but why one particular one...? There are some very good ones out there with very good illustrations - are you looking for this particular one for some reason?

Not so very long ago I was browsing Amazon and wanted to buy a good illustrated version, but they were quite expensive, and the one I chose wasn't in stock anyway, I got an email to apologise etc. etc. - as providence would have it, I was in a second hand bookshop the following week and came across the 'New St. Joseph, First Childrens Bible' for all of twenty cent :D -

I'd highly recommend it if reading to your children is what you are looking to do - or letting them read themselves - to see good illustrations and our fascinating salvation history.

My children love having a story read to them, but I found none so much as this one, this book - which caught me off guard - they see themselves as part of the story, and they are indeed!!

They loved 'Joseph' and how he was sold by his brothers into slavery in Egypt and the epic adventure.....they just love you to sit and read and speak with them, and children are more intuitive than most adults imo. Such retention and simplicity, they don't do lateral thinking for it's own reason.

If you are looking for a Bible, and don't mind Jesus wearing the contemporary clothing of that time in the illustrations, I'd highly recommend it :) Maybe try a second hand book store too...ye never know.
